Sui (SUI) faces a pivotal moment as $265 million worth of tokens are set to unlock this week. The release of 74 million SUI—representing 2.28% of the circulating supply—comes on the heels of a 61% price rally, sparking concerns about potential sell pressure. Currently, only 33% of SUI’s total supply is in circulation.
On-chain data presents a contrasting narrative. Sui’s total value locked (TVL) jumped 40% in April to $1.73 billion, while stablecoin capitalization grew from $630 million to $880 million. Daily DEX volumes remain strong at around $500 million, indicating robust network activity despite the upcoming token unlock.
